The evening adhkar (remembrance) are designed to provide physical and spiritual protection through the darkness of the night. By engaging in these specific supplications transmitted from the Prophet ﷺ, a believer ends their day in a state of worship and reliance on Allah.

Best Time to Read

The ideal time to recite the evening adhkar is after the Asr prayer until Maghrib (sunset). If missed, they can be recited after Maghrib or Isha.

1. The 3 Quls (Ikhlas, Falaq, Nas)

Read 3 times each
To be recited consecutively: Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq, and Surah An-Nas.
"Say: He is Allah, [who is] One..." "Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak..." "Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind..."
Benefit: Reciting them three times in the evening and morning will protect you from all evil. (Abu Dawud 5082, Tirmidhi 3575)

2. Entering the Evening

Read 1 time
"We have entered the evening, and unto Allah belongs all dominion. All praise is to Allah. There is none worthy of worship but Allah, alone, without partner..."
Benefit: A comprehensive prayer seeking protection from the evils of the night, from laziness, and from the punishment of the grave. (Muslim 2723)
