The Famous Last Three Verses (22-24)
Key Themes & Lessons
1. The Power of the Quran
Verse 21 states: "If We had sent down this Quran upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled and splitting from the fear of Allah." This powerful metaphor demonstrates the immense weight of the Quran's message — if a mountain cannot bear it, how should a human heart respond?
2. The Most Beautiful Names of Allah
The last three verses contain over 15 divine Names and Attributes — from Ar-Rahman (The Merciful) to Al-Musawwir (The Fashioner). These verses are a complete theology of who Allah is, and reciting them with understanding transforms one's relationship with the Creator.
3. The Lesson of the Banu Nadir
The historical context teaches that no fortress or worldly protection can save those whom Allah has decreed to be expelled. The Banu Nadir thought their fortresses were impenetrable, but Allah struck them with fear from within — demonstrating that true security comes only from Him.
"Whoever recites the last three verses of Surah Al-Hashr in the morning, Allah appoints 70,000 angels to seek mercy for him until evening."
